Microsoft Exchange Forms Designer

Microsoft Exchange Forms Designer (EFD) is an obsolete forms design tool included with versions 4.0 and 5.0 of Microsoft Exchange Server. It's located on the client disk in the Exchange Server 4.0 and 5.0 set. It can also be downloaded as part of Exchange Server 4.0 Service Pack 2, with an update available in Exchange Server 4.0 Service Pack 4. It is also on the Outlook 97 CD.

EFD is a Visual Basic 4.0 16-bit Windows application, and therefore has the same Y2K issues as Visual Basic 4.0.

While you need the Exchange Server client to install forms you create with EFD, you don't need to be connected to an Exchange Server if you're just creating personal forms. Be sure to take a look at the extensive help files that come with EFD.

EFD forms can be used with Microsoft Outlook, but Outlook forms cannot be used with the Exchange Client. For Outlook 2002, you need to install the Electronic Forms Designer Runtime component, which is not included in the default installation.

Tools

Outlook 2002 Update Electronic Forms Designer Runtime Required to run EFD forms with Outlook 2002.
